Ash's head snapped to face her, the dire's hackles bristling. Now that E'Roa's temper had been summoned, it would be easier to rile her into a self-destructive mode. The brute needed a new strategy, now at three-fourths of his total health and slowed down while facing a renewed E'Roa. He scowled and turned his crown, trying to find a better arena. Undergrowth was everywhere, and Ashencross cursed slightly. To the waters then.
He reared with a loud bark and turned, heading towards the boulder-filled areas near where the dens were. He bent his ears and made no retort as the beta swiveled to face the charging female.
If she cannot face me without her magick, then she is weak. She relies too heavily upon it, he thought as E'Roa approached him with vines thrashing and snakes flailing. The powerful cords of muscles in his legs bunched up as he crouched and lunged for her head-on amid a lariat of vines. They whipped and lashed him, nearly sending him toppling to the ground if it hadn't been for his last-minute crushing clash of teeth down on the plants. He let out a growl and savagely ripped and tore at them, blood mingling his blue-black mottled face into a vicious grimace.

Jowls rearing, and teeth gleaming, with ferousity her snout ripped about, biting and grabbing any fur she could reach on this dark brute. Her own pelt covered with spits of mud, and glued together with blood. Her orbs were stained with fury, and her front paws lashed at her attacked. Whatever this would take. . . she hissed in her mind. The fae turned around and darted back into the clearing, taking a deep breath, and holding it. Something was wrong with this picture. However she slowly let her magicks crawl towards the water, some of it draining, and her vines getting not larger, but stronger. The rain pounded steadily on her pelt and her ivy eyes narrowed.
Snarling she closed her optics, and let her auds trail upwards. Listening to the rain, and the movements.

Ash' let out a yelp as he was wrenched away from E'Roa, fur ripping out in some places as he toppled to the ground in a puddle of mud. The brute growled as he rolled onto his belly, crimson trickling down his sides and flanks. He wouldn't give up. She'd have to kill him first.
He pushed himself to his paws and sprinted for her. Why was she closing her eyes? He couldn't stop the momentum. The beta leapt over a set of roots, crouching down to dodge a flailing lariat of ivy before muscling his entire weight into her to try and knock her to the ground and bite her chest, muzzle, throat. Whatever he could reach. He had to wittle her defenses down with brute force, all the while dodging her attacks as well. It was difficult. Thorns jammed into his fur, some blocked by the mud but others driving and knotting in his pelt.
The lightning screamed overhead, snapping down on an old tree on a nearby hill and setting it ablaze. The flames caught in Ashencross' cobalt eyes, giving him a demonic mask.

The large heavy footsteps of the brute could be heard, and the snapping of her precious vines. Yet as the pounding became heavier, she waited, small wildflowers sprouting at her paws. Claws were dug into the dirt, as if she were waiting to embrace a great attack, but she wasn't, he would see. When the time was right. This alphess wouldn't be the easiest to go down. It was either she lived or all her lives were taken, and she joined Rao' Pack. Running with her ancestors. As those thoughts raced through her mind, she almost lost track of the sounds. As they got ever-so close, her pelt bristled, and she rolled to the side. Optics shooting open. Regaining her balance, her maw opened to snarl, and the ground only beneath her began to tremble, cracks appeared, and her temper was starting to get the better of her. Little shoots of . . plant began to spring, nothing like the flowers or plants that surrounded her now, but something even more so. Vines covered in thorns, and needle-like points covered it, some type of small purple liquid oozing from the needles. This didn't look like a plant worth messing with.

Kota stood there in utter confusion and horror. What was going on? Friends harming friends? The fact that he had caused the Alpha to loose a life only darkened his shape as he lowered both his ears and tail. His orbs of blue flicking back and forth like a scolded pup. He wanted to rush to his Alpha’s side but out of respect… he didn’t move a paw.
“ Be careful….” He whispered as he watched on from a safe distance….. What was going on here?

As she dodged, Ash' veered to avoid a counterattack that never came. His momentum broke and he toppled like a playful whelp. Panting, he stiffly rolled over onto his paws. Horror crossed his face as this horrendous plant thing began to arch out of the ground. The Beta hissed under his breath, fur spiking out defensively. He couldn't attack, not with that thing defending her.
He paused and winced, limping a bit on his front paw. It hurt a while back but he had ignored it. However, it was making itself known now. How would he go about doing this. Ashencross straightened his muddy paw and swallowed the pain shooting through him. His breathing became heavier as he slowly circled her, his head down low. He would have to aim for her legs to weaken her. He cursed under his breath, wondering if she would go on the offensive this time and do away with him.

Her ivy optics shooting around, she watched the brute, but more importantly she watched her own creations. Those looked as if she couldn't control them herself, so what had summoned them? Her anger? E'Roa took a few deepened breaths, and stepped on her mildly crooked limb. That day on the hunt had given her this crippled thing, which wasn't quite as crippled as it could've been, if Kota hadn't helped her; but still this limb was a doomed thing upon her, and no amount of magicks or herbs could heal it. If it was broken yet another time, who knows what would become of it. . "Having some troubles, oh beta of mine?" her voice hissed, as she watched him, a cackle growing in her throat. For now she knew she had the advantage, and she was going to take every minute soaking it up.

"Yes, actually. I can't pinpoint which weakness I'd like to expose the most, Alphess," Ashencross said scathingly.
The massive male stepped forward, mentally examining E'Roa's frame. With those magicks surrounding her, she would be slower to attack, to dodge, to react in general. He wasn't much better, with his size and muddy add-ons. Was that poison in her arsenal? And what about the rain crashing down and the flames in the distance?
Ash' stared down at his massive paws squelching in the mud, and he growled slightly. "Are you just going to stand there or are you going to attack me, E'Roa? You seem to be quite confident in your advantage."

E'Roa froze, only watching with hatred in her ivy green optics. The ess should've never chosen Ash' to become Beta of Karai. Yet this was all it was about, power, and the idea of leading a pack in your own way. Maybe she should just give in too the Beta. No, she wouldn't allow herself to leave her own home, because of some brute that wanted to lead it, and hange her own ways. If she had to leave here, then she would rather die. Die in her homelands, packlands, and then have her spirit leave and become part of Rao. Ancestors far beyond those of which they knew lay there, and the femme knew that they should be giving her the streangth she needed to protect her position, but they weren't.
Lifting her muzzle, and letting out a ferocious howl, she charged forth, dodging all that she could, and almost getting hit with her razor-like plants. "I am terribly satisfied with my advantage, and plan to take full use of it!" she hissed in the direction of the dark knight, her plume stuck high in the air, perfecting a dominant posture as she strode easily forth, the mud not phasing any of her movements.
That's what it was like here all the time. Mud, and a lot of water. Moving through it had become very easy for her.

Ash' laughed hollowly and came forward, noting the self-destructive power. His eyes flickered side to side slowly as he took a moment to contemplate. Backing down wasn't an option, he knew that.
Curled ebony dug into the blackened loam. Lightning screamed overhead, illuminating Ashencross' face as he suddenly crouched and leapt forward. He dismissed her dominant gestures as he lowered himself and shot for her paws. His lips curled back as he aimed to bite her paw, but he knew the chance of hitting her was slim, especially with those d**n plants.

Kota watched on in horror as his packmate attacked their Alpha. He was fighting everything he had to not get involved. What had snapped in the Beta’s brain he wondered silently to himself. What had caused this aggression that wracked his brain and caused pain in his soul. They were all supposed to be working together! Not against each other. He furrowed his brows even more at these thoughts… just what in the gods had happened between the two?

As Ash' lowered his figure, E'Roa was baffled. What was this? What was that d**ned knight doing? Running to the side, missing the brute, her side scathed a thorn, and she felt a small amount of poison seeping from her wound. Oh no, she thought. If that poison got throughout her bodice, before she could do anything, she would be in terrible trouble. Tensing, she was between Ash, and Kota yet again. Her close friend, she wanted to get involved with this brute, bring him into battle, by her side. Yet she knew that it was a battle that could onky be duked out between her and the Beta.
"Try your best you scrap of filth," she shot an angry remark in the dark figure's direction. Her side ached at this point, and it wasn't likely that the female would let this wound get the best of her.

"Reducing yourself to name-calling? What is the honor in fighting you if you begin acting like a whelp?" Ashencross demanded roughly, turning around and lowering himself with his tail in the air as if he was playing. "Well, since that's the case." He wagged his tail in the air tauntingly. "Come get me, E'Roa!" A haunting smile creased his expression.
ooc;// Kota doesn't know that if a wolf feels strong enough, he challenges the Alpha/ess to a battle? o_O By the way he's acting, it's like "OMG Ash' hates E'Roa and he just likes disrupting order!" Ashencross is just testing his strength.

Kota continued watching, not knowing what in the world had sparked this nor what was going on…. All he could do was silently stare by the side lines. He would not travel off, despite his inability to do nothing amidst this time of trail He needed to be here…. For either of those before him. Though in what way he had no clue….
(( Ooc: Kota is more like WTF!! We were just a big happy family and now where fighting!!1111 What lead up to this!! Cause yeah he didn’t know that Ash was thinking about challenging or anything and then boom here’s a fight XD Also Kota is sort of partial to his Alpha… since she’s the leader and that’s that. It takes a lot for Kota to think his Alpha is doing wrong. X3 ))
